CG Power Systems Belgium & DuPont

A partnership between DuPont and CG Power Systems Belgium has created a world-class technology platform for the development of innovative power and distribution transformers. Partnering In 2001 the former Pauwels entered into a key strategic partnering relationship with DuPont covering the use of Nomex® Thermal Technology in the latest generation of SLIM® compact distribution transformers. The business of designing, building and selling transformers is changing rapidly due to the ongoing liberalisation of the energy market in the United States, Europe and other parts of the world and to the trend towards decentralised and environmentally-friendly ways of generation and distribution. As a result, our customers are not only demanding better solutions and better value, but are working more closely with their suppliers to find the answers to these challenges. Similarly, here at Pauwels, we are increasingly drawing on the wealth of expertise amongst our strategic suppliers. These partnerships, both on the supplier and the customer side, are resulting in innovative designs that will enable CG Power Systems to remain an important player in the marketplace. New generation Global growth areas in power generation include the development of alternative energy sources, especially wind power, and meeting the need for higher performance mobile substation units for emergency, back-up and top-up power supply. Working in close collaboration with DuPont, CG Power Systems has developed innovative solutions in both these areas. The inclusion of Nomex® thermal protection from DuPont has resulted in a family of liquid-filled compact transformers with the best power/weight/size ratios currently available on the market.
