Pauwels history

1947 First Pauwels transformer made in a small workshop in the center of Mechelen. 1958 New factory built on the edge of the town. 1977 Formation of Pauwels Trafo Ireland Ltd. InCavan, Ireland and Pauwels Contracting Divisionin Mechelen, Belgium. 1980 Formation of The Saudi Transformers Company Ltd., a joint venture with two Saudi partners. 1983 Acquisition of distribution transformerfactory in the U.S.A. and formation ofPauwels Transformers Inc. 1986 Acquisition of ACEC transformers division in Gent, Belgium. 1989 Formation of Pauwels Trafo Service S.A.in Charleroi, Belgium. 1993 Completion and opening of brand newfactory in Indonesia, built with localpartner, PT Pauwels Trafo Asia. 1994 Acquisition of Federal Pioneer's large powertransformer business in Canada and formation of Pauwels Canada Inc. 1995 Acquisition of technology and know-how of Moloney Mobile Substation Unit and formationof Pauwels Contracting Inc., in Canada. 2000 Brand licensing agreement with DuPontNOMEX® covering the use of NOMEX® thermal technology in mobile hybrid substations and distribution transformers. 2002 Partnership with Elettromeccanica di Marnatefor the production of cast resin transformers. 2004 Integration of transformer activities from Gent to Pauwels Trafo Belgium N.V., Mechelen & creation of knowledge center. 2005 Pauwels becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crompton Greaves Ltd. 2006 CG/Pauwels acquires the Transformers, GIS & Contracting businesses of the Hungarian Ganz Transelektro Villamossagi Zrt. (GTV) & Transverticum Kft (TV), engaged in the design, erection & commissioning of fully integrated substations. 2007 CG/Pauwels acquires Irish electrical systems company Microsol. 2008 CG acquires MSE Power Systems Inc. The MSE group engages in engineering, procurement and construction of high voltage power systems. 2010 Acquisition of Uk based Power Technology Solutions (PTS). PTS is a high voltage electrical engineering company which provides consultancy, technical and engineering support to regional electricity companies (RECs).
